You already work with research data management? You’ve explained FAIR principles, supported researchers, maybe delivered trainings? And still, something doesn’t quite work.
Researchers agree, but their practices don’t really change. Consultations feel inconsistent. Your role in the institution remains somewhat unclear. And important decisions often happen without you.
At some point, it’s frustrating. Because knowledge is not the problem.
Instead of focusing on more content, this workshop focuses on what actually makes RDM support effective in practice. It’s about:
Because RDM support is about guiding processes, shaping decisions, and working within institutional realities.
An important part of the workshop is understanding how RDM support fits into the broader institutional landscape. You will look at how services are structured, how workflows can be designed, and how collaboration between different stakeholders—researchers, IT, administration, libraries—can actually work in practice. This also includes reflecting on your own role: where your responsibilities begin, where they end, and how you can position yourself as a trusted and effective partner.
The workshop is highly interactive and designed for people who are already working in research support and want to deepen their practice. It is not an introduction to RDM. Instead, it is a space to refine your approach, test ideas, and develop concrete solutions for your own institutional context.
You will leave with more than just new perspectives. You will leave with practical tools, structured approaches to consultation, and a clearer understanding of how to make your work visible and impactful.
